State of the Superintendency
Outcomes-Based Evaluation
School Administrator, September 2022
About 41 percent of superintendents reported they had evaluations by their school boards linked to student outcomes/performance in some way, roughly 2 percent less than the previous year, according to AASA surveys of superintendents nationwide.
Since 2015, percentages of formal performance tied to student outcomes have fluctuated between 34 percent and almost 43 percent.
About 1,800 superintendents participated in the 2021-22 survey.
