Laurie Heinz
The Community Consolidated School District 15 in Palatine, Ill., is welcoming back Laurie Heinz, who began her administrative career there as an assistant principal in 1998. Heinz will take the reins in Palatine after a five-year stint as superintendent in Park Ridge, Ill. She also spent three years as assistant superintendent in Skokie, Ill., and served as a principal in Northbrook, Ill. Heinz earned her Ed.D. in educational leadership from National Louis University in Chicago. She joined AASA in 2009.




Cody G. Hirschi
The new superintendent of the Reeds Spring, Mo., School District is Cody Hirschi. He comes to Reeds Spring from superintendencies at Mid-Buchanan R-V Schools in Faucett, Mo., and Pettis County R-V Schools in Hughesville, Mo. Hirschi previously worked as an elementary principal in Independence, Mo., and Ava, Mo., after beginning his career in education as an elementary school teacher. He earned his Ed.D. in educational administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. He has been a member of AASA since 2018.




Jonathan D. Isaacson
Eleven years after joining the Hillsboro R-III School District in Hillsboro, Mo., as an assistant principal of a junior high school, Jon Isaacson has ascended to the superintendency. He had served as assistant superintendent there since 2014. Prior to coming to Hillsboro, he was a social studies teacher at the middle school and high school levels for 10 years in the Fox C-6 School District in Arnold, Mo. Isaacson earned his Ed.D. from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Mo., where he has since served as an adjunct professor. He joined AASA in 2018.

 


Cory H. McIntyre
Cory McIntyre will take over the lead of his first school district in becoming the superintendent of Osseo Area Schools in North Maple Grove, Minn. Most recently, he was assistant superintendent of middle schools and student services in Anoka, Minn., after a stint as executive director of student services in that district. McIntyre began his career in education as a school psychologist before serving as special education coordinator and director of student support services. McIntyre became a member of AASA in 2016.

 


Mark D. Miller
After serving four years as superintendent in Juneau, Alaska, Mark Miller has returned to a warmer climate. Miller was named superintendent of Sonora, Calif., Union High School District. He was previously assistant superintendent in Hayward, Calif., and director of human resources of the Santa Clara Office of Education in Santa Clara, Calif. He also served as a high school administrator in Emery, Calif., and Tracy, Calif. Miller received a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of La Verne in La Verne, Calif. He joined AASA in 2014.




Daniel A. Nerad
Dan Nerad brings almost 20 years of experience as a superintendent to his new role as search services and organizational services consultant with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards in Madison, Wis. Nerad recently retired from the top executive post in the Birmingham Public Schools in Beverly Hills, Mich., where he spent six years. Previously, he held the superintendencies in Madison and Green Bay, Wis. In Green Bay, where he worked for 33 years, Nerad started as a school social worker. A 27-year AASA member, Nerad earned a doctorate in leadership from Milwaukee’s Cardinal Stritch University.
